The 45 families of Uralsk received new apartments from Beeline and its Zhyly Zhurek Foundation

Beeline and Zhyly Zhurek Foundation purchased apartments for 45 families affected by spring floods in Uralsk. One more apartment was additionally purchased with donations raised by Beeline subscribers.

The ceremony of handing over 45 apartments to residents of the West Kazakhstan region, who lost their residences due to the devastating spring floods, took place in Uralsk on September 24. The flooding, which became the largest flood in Kazakhstan in recent decades, left about two thousand country dwellers in Uralsk homeless. According to the Akimat, 10,500 claims for compensation have been filed.

Beeline and its corporate foundation Zhyly Zhurek promptly responded to the call for help, allocating 1 billion tenge to purchase new housing for the affected families. Yevgeniy Nastradin, CEO of Beeline Kazakhstan, noted that support of Kazakhstani people in such moments is an important part of the company’s mission:

“Our company is not only limited to providing telecom services and developing digital products - we are committed to improving the well-being of society. We understand that in crucial situations, such as natural disasters, not only technological assistance is important, but also human support. Donating new apartments to the victims is not just material aid, but a contribution to the restoration and improvement of the lives of the people of Kazakhstan. We believe that such initiatives help people return to stability and security”.

The Zhyly Zhurek Foundation, established in November 2023, focused from its inception on assisting Kazakhstanis affected by natural disasters, as well as developing the education system and supporting diversity and inclusion. As part of this program, the foundation has implemented many initiatives, including helping rural schools and constructing house for those affected in other regions of the country.

“Our foundation was established to provide genuine assistance to those in need. We are happy that we were able to provide 45 families with new homes where they will be able to start a new life. We are grateful to the Uralsk Akimat for their active assistance and support in this important endeavor. We believe that a house is a basic need of every human being. We are glad that with new housing we are returning confidence in the future to these people,” emphasized Anar Zhumagulova, the Zhyly Zhurek Foundation Head.

Many of the victims have already begun moving into their new homes, having been given the opportunity to choose their own type of living space. The regional Akimat provided a list of families in need of assistance, and based on this data Zhyly Zhurek Foundation concluded 45 contracts for the purchase of apartments, both in the first and secondary markets.

Zhandos Duyssengaliyev, Acting Akim of Uralsk city, noted the importance of this support:

“The spring flood was a challenge for many residents of our region, and the assistance provided by Beeline and Zhyly Zhurek Foundation is invaluable. Thanks to their support, dozens of families will be able to rebuild their households and return to their daily lives.”

In addition to providing housing, during the spring floods Beeline provided 41.5 thousand of its subscribers in the affected areas not only in the West Kazakhstan region, but also throughout the country with free communication and Internet for the amount of over 165 million tenge. This support allowed people to stay in touch and receive important information in the emergency situation.

In addition, Beeline and the Zhyly Zhurek Foundation acquired one additional apartment using funds donated by Beeline customers.

“We thank sincerely all our customers who responded during the spring floods and made their contribution. We also would like to express our gratitude to the media who supported our initiative and spread information about the fundraising. Thanks to your help, one more family in addition to 45 families will be able to celebrate a housewarming party,” emphasized Anar Zhumagulova.
